Yesterday, my Grandma and I made a simple strawberry shortcake, and today, I wanted to share the recipe. You only need a few basic ingredients:
2 strawberries, cut in half
1 medium slice of angel food cake
1 tbsp of whipped cream (canned, OR you can make your own)
For whipped cream:
1 cup of heavy whipping cream
1 packet of sweet n low
Whisk the cream and sweet n low together with a mixette or by hand until the cream gets thick and frothy. Be careful of it turning to butter- stop whisking just before this point for a nice, thick whipped cream. Scoop some whipped cream onto your cake, and then assemble the four strawberry halves. Enjoy with a glass of milk.
