Madagascar 3!

This weekend, Dad took me to the movies. We had missed the early film, so we went to the 7:15 version. It was only in 2d, but who really cares. The film was still great. We saw Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted. It was awesome. For those of you who don't know what Madagascar is, here is a rundown.

It is a story about a zebra, giraffe, hippo, and a lion. They get lost from their cozy zoo home, no thanks to the zebra, and spend over a year trying to get back home. Over time, they realize they love their free life, and upon returning to NY, go away once more.

The Characters:

Marty

Marty, a self-confident, happy-go-lucky zebra with a snippy attitude. He is very loyal to his friends, though they can be tremendous pains sometimes. He is the reason the zoo animals go off on their adventure.

Alex and his circus friend

Alex is a proud, happy lion. He thinks a lot of himself, and doesn't like being insulted. He is full of himself, and sometimes doesn't think before he speaks. He can be a bit of a brat as well. He hates living in "the wild" at first, but then gets used to it.

Gloria

Gloria is a peppy, no-nonsense hippo. She tries to keep peace between the animals, though sometimes doesn't succeed when it comes to Alex and Marty. She can be VERY bossy. She is also the love interest of Melman.

Melman

Melman is a worried giraffe. He is always scared about his health, and is forever getting medical treatment, usually cat-scans. He is the calmest of the zoo animals. He is also madly in love with Gloria, but doesn't show it until the second movie.

The Movie:

The movie starts with Alex remembering that the penguins left them in the plane, saying that they were not coming back. Alex, flipping out, convinces the overs to swim with him to France, were the penguins were heading for casino. They soon arrive, only to be chased out by an animal control officer, who would literally KILL to have them on her wall.

Their chase leads them to a circus train, just about to leave. They pretend to be circus animals in order to get on to the train. They then discover that they will actually have to perform, and realize the circus is a total failure. They purchase it before they realize this, unfortunately. Alex comes up with a plan to save the circus, and as each animal discovers his circus talent and friend, they are able to act their way back to NYC. Upon arriving at the zoo, they discover they want to stay with the circus.

The animal control officer catches them, and puts them back in the zoo. Then, she tries to kill Alex. Just in time, their circus pals come to the rescue with a flying circus. The animal control officer ends up behind bars, and the zoo animals go on to become circus animals.
