Maple Fudge Recipe

As promised, here is the recipe (along with a few pictures)! Finally, I tell you guys I am going to put something up and ACTUALLY put it up! I pat myself on the back. In any case, here is the recipe! I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does, and remember: If you need any ingredients, you can get them at Buy Buy Momma!

You will need:
2 3/4 cups brown sugar (light OR dark)
2 cups heavy whipping cream
2 tbsp white sugar
2 tbsp light corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla bean paste
(OPTIONAL) you can add 1 tbsp of maple syrup for extra flavor!

Prep:
Stir together all of you ingredients on the stove and bring to a boil. Keeping at a medium boil, stirring constantly for 5 minutes. Do a soft ball test, and the fudge should form a medium ball. Next, fill a large bowl (bigger than the pan you are cooking your fudge in) with icy water. Put the fudge pan into the water (it should float on top) and stir your fudge like that for 5 minutes. Have a pan prepared, either buttered or lined with parchment paper, and pour your fudge into it. Leave for 20 minutes and it should be ready to eat! Enjoy!

New language, Computer coding and more GIMP!

I have been very busy today- Dad found new homeschooling websites for me to study on! First, Dad found a site called Duolingo- a site that teaches languages for free! I checked it out and set up my account, and I really enjoy it! I am currently taking French and can already say a couple of things. The exercises are simple and fun but still teach basic French. It has actually become my favorite school subject! You can try duolingo here: www.duolingo.com

But Dad's creativity in teaching me didn't end here. He also found me a site called code academy to teach me- you guessed it, computer programming! At first, I flipped out because I thought that he was giving me the course that he himself had trouble with. However, I was wrong- code academy starts you off with the most BASIC encoding, and works you up slowly. Much like duolingo, it has simple exercises that educate you JUST enough to not annoy you. Try out codeacademy here: www.codeacademy.com

And finally, on top of all that, I had another assignment due for my GIMP class. You had to edit a photo and add text into it. Here is what I came up with:

Well, that draws this post to a close....

Math Test Results

Well, today was my math test.... I got up at 9:00 and left the house at 9:30 to get to the school for 9:45. The test had already started when I arrived, and when I went in, the first class had almost finished.

I started my test, and I was so nervous, because as I moved up, the questions got harder, and I was positive I got a lot wrong. Plus, there weren't any tissues in the library, and my allergies were bothering me... by the time I was done with my 52 questions, my nose was dripping.

However, when I compared my score to what I got last year, it was even HIGHER! My score last year was 230 or something, and this year, my score was 242. According to the grade levels, I tested out at 12th grade level in math. I was so happy!

Now, I just have a mineral, 3 math, and some reading to do. Then, I am going to karate, and when I get back, I intend to play either Wizard101 with Dad, The Sims 2, or practice the webcam with Dad. That reminds me.... I am going to end my post here, because I need to be out of the room in a moment for Dad's video call.
